My husband and I have decided to quickly pay off the remaining amount of car loan by the end of the year. Curious as to how much outstanding debt we’re dealing with, we made an appointment with our car loan agent. Strangely, she told us to meet her not at the bank finance department, but at a cafe. Using her notebook, she was able to access all our credit information and insurance online. The nice lady took her time to give us a rundown of the procedures and how much we have to settle. All this over a nice cup of coffee in a relaxing environment. Much better than having to meet her in her office definitely.

We have shot more than a hundred video clips of Clarisse since the day she was born. I save a copy of all her video clips in a folder in my notebook. Clarisse find it a blast browsing and watching video clips of herself. Not that I have a problem with that. But in order for Clarisse to watch the video clips, I would have to be by her side just to select a different video clip one after another. I find that a drag.
However, that will soon be in the past as Clarisse have learnt and is now able to click on the video folder, randomly select a clip using the up/down arrow keys and play it by pressing the [Enter] key. A sequence of steps I believe she has mastered in recent weeks. By repeating these steps, she can now randomly play and watch video clips all by herself.

My mom’s PC was interrupted with strange and mysterious problems last month. It started with the monitor occasionally black out and switches to standby mode. We suspected the monitor was giving trouble but my husband said we shouldn’t rule out bugs in the CPU.
We took our CPU to the technician to have it checked. To cut a long story short, the CPU booted up normally as well as the monitor everytime it was run at the PC workshop. As soon as we brought the setup home, the monitor would fail to power up or reverts back to stand-by mode sooner or later. We made more than 5 trips to the technicians. None of them were able to diagnose where the source of the problem is.

“Stupid!” … was one of the forbidden words Clarisse uttered recently. One night, while tucking her in, she said it. For the very first time and repeatedly do say despite me scolding her. She sensed I’m clearly annoyed and irritated by that word so she thought it was fun. I told her very sternly never to say or call someone ‘stupid’ coz it’s not very nice.
But I do wonder if she understands at all what I’m trying to tell her.
My husband and I are now very careful with our conversations. Constantly reminding ourselves not to let slip words or phrases Clarisse should never learn about. At least not at such a young age.
Curious to know where she picked that word up. I asked her “Who said stupid?” and Clarisse said …

Currently our kitchen uses a single undermount sink. There isn’t anything wrong with it except when dirty plates, bowls and utensils pile up and you need an extra pair of helping hands to wash them. With a single sink, it is not possible for two person to wash them simultaneously. And that really makes us feel a double undermount sink, with separate water faucets, would have been a much better choice during renovations 3 years ago.

Have you ever walked around without realising a soiled diaper stuck to your back?
On our way to Tesco this evening, I changed Clarisse diapers. I chucked the soiled diaper on the car seat just next to me. Clarisse was jumping up and down in the car, giving me a hard time putting her new diaper on. By the time I was done, I had absolutely forgotten about the soiled diaper I had so conveniently placed beside on the seat.
We reached Tesco. Parked out car. Off we went strolling casually into Tesco. As I stepped onto the travellator, a girl called for my attention and told me there’s a diaper sticking out my back. I thanked her for telling me about it and smiled as I make my way up the travellator. A smile soon burst into laughter as my husband and I picture how silly and embarassing I was walking for a good two minutes with a soiled diaper stuck to my back.

Our cousin sister, together with her entire family, moved to Singapore last week. They hired a local moving company to handle most of their stuff. Unfortunately it turned out to be an unpleasant experience as they were charged quite a bit more than their quoted price. Unlike major cross country moving companies who follow a strict policy of honouring a quoted price, our local counterparts can definitely use a bit more honesty and principles in doing business. My cousin sister was furious to say the least and swore never to recommend their service to anyone.

This is the pair of shoes we bought for Clarisse during Chinese New Years, which is less than 6 months ago. I picked size 4 so that she’d have reasonable amount of room for her feet. But she outgrown it in a short time.
We took her shopping for a pair of new shoes last week and bought a pair of sized 5. My mom-in-law said I should’ve opt for size 6 but I disagreed. I know Clarisse would outgrow her size 5 in no time but going one size up proves to be too loose for her feet.

Clarisse celebrated her 2nd birthday 3 weeks ago. This year, there was no birthday bash or party. Just a small get together with my parents and in-laws at McDonalds. We bought a really tasty butter cake for Clarisse but it was a struggle to make her sit still enough for taking photographs of her cutting the cake. The playroom is just next to us. All Clarisse wanted was to dash into the playroom again to play with the kids.
