While browsing the internet on my bed last night, I suddenly feel the urge to splurge and indulge when I bumped into this – memory foam mattress.
It says: “Imagine a place where you can renew your mind and body every night. Where pain and stress melt away. Where pleasure and comfort greet you every time you lie down”.
Now that’s something my bed is sorely lacking. I’ve been waking up every morning with backaches and neck pains. I really wish to get rid of my mattress and get a more comfortable one.

Baby Clarisse had problems with constipation last week. Her stool was very hard and dry she cried when passing motion. There are two things which led to this I suspect. First of all, since I’m breastfeeding her, it could be that I’ve been avoiding fruits and vegetables when I had a cough last week. That could’ve caused my breastmilk to contain less fibre. Secondly, two days before baby Clarisse’s had constipation, I switched from Bellamy’s Oats Cereal to another brand. For several months, I’ve fed her Bellamy’s Oats Cereal every morning. So I quickly bought a box of Bellamy’s Oats Cereal and fed her in the evening. The next morning, her stool was back to normal.
Having seen the immediate effect of lack of fibre, I’ve got to make sure she gets her daily dose of fibre to promote healthy bowel movements.

Do wires and cables annoy you? My husband bought a Belkin wireless router and modem yesterday and he managed to set it up this evening. Both our desktop PCs and one notebook is connected to the internet wirelessly. Including the printer and wi-fi external storage drive. Therefore, our home office area is finally free from unwanted ethernet cables. No longer would our feet gets tangled by unsightly cables along the our walls. But best of all, I could work with my notebook anywhere in the house.

From the day our baby Clarisse was born, we have shot about 500 pictures and tens of video clips of her so far. These photographs and video clips are our treasure. Shot in digital format, we do backups every week and store them in several places:
- 2 DVD-Rewritable discs
- a 4GB Thumbdrive
- 2 external hard drives
- my online Flickr! account
- my laptop and desktop’s harddrive (which I don’t count as being safe at all)

Today has been a wet and cold day. It was raining while driving home from my mom’s house. The air-conditioner inside the car felt too cold even at the lowest setting. Baby Clarisse caught the flu again and has been suffering from running nose for 3 days now so I switched the air-conditioner off and wind down the window a bit. It’s times like these that I get very annoyed with my husband’s reluctance to install ventshades above the car windows. He doesn’t want car accessories that would leave a stain or mark on the car surface. Without them, I could barely wind down more than an inch without the rain drops getting through the window gap.

Just came back from Kuala Lumpur today. I’m relieved it was a pleasant and smooth trip as this is the first time I’m travelling outstation without my mother’s help to take care of baby Clarisse. We planned to stay for one night initially but ended up staying for two nights instead. I was expecting baby Clarisse to be a handful without my mother around but as it turned out, she’s been rather well-behaved. I’m glad baby Clarisse had no trouble sleeping in my aunt’s room. So we decided to stay for another night

Baby Clarisse got to take back something fun and big yesterday. My husband’s aunty gave her another hand-me-down toy, PlaySkool toy table. It couldn’t have came at a better time as my baby Clarisse has been practising standing up for the past few weeks. I am sure she’ll really enjoy this toy. It’ll be a great encouragement for her to stand up from a sitting position.
It is a battery-operated play bench toy set which has several canisters on top. And inside these canisters there are components that bounces up and down, swirling balls, spinning flaps and make funny sounds. Needless to say, baby Clarisse loves it. Especially the colours and sound it makes. But she doesn’t really know how to work those buttons yet. Instead she would take them canisters apart and knock them around.

Sharing photos online with friends and family is easy. You just need an image editor to scale it down, save it to compressed jpeg format and attach it to your email. But when it comes to sharing video files, things are not that straightforward.
Obviously the main problem is the file size. On average, a 2-minute 640×480 uncompressed mpeg video recording from my digital camera is about 130-140MB. You’d be hardpressed to find an email service provider that allows you to attach such a huge file to your emails.

What a shocking General Election it has been for Malaysians! In a good way that is.
Last night, at 9pm, when my husband and I checked the unofficial results on MalaysiaKini website, news has it that Penang has fallen to the opposition with DAP taking significant number of seats. That was enough to send our adrenaline pumping.
Unfortunately our local TV stations, RTM and TV3 were very slow announcing the tallied results. Even at 11pm, they were only reporting Barisan Nasional’s victories in East Malaysia: Sabah and Sarawak. TV3 was particularly annoying, constantly babbling and citing racial sentiments as the main cause of Barisan Nasional’s losts. Very dangerous to be discussing racial issues on national TV. TV3 is one of Barisan’s mouthpiece so I was not surprised they are stooping so low to incite racial tension right now. Despite that, I am certain that times have changed since the unfortunate riot of May 13 1969. The majority of Malaysian citizens are more educated, well-informed and wiser.

In less than 12 hours I will be casting my vote in Malaysia’s General Election. There’s no hiding where my sentiment lies for those who know me. My ‘X’ will be marked in any opposition’s box, be it PAS, PKR or DAP.
I hate monopoly. It brings out the worst in anything. I vote in hope to achieve a balance in power.
The last minute indelible ink pull out was a real letdown. Adding to suspicions that the GE won’t be polled fair and square. I won’t be surprised the polling results will be rigged to turn the tides into BN’s favor.
Those who walked the BERSIH demonstration last year is heading the right direction: the need for clean GE’s. If that can’t be achieved, there’s no democracy at all.
