My husband’s pair of cheap sandals is torn after just six months of use. Not only is it not durable, it’s not even comfortable at all. This time, I told him to buy something more expensive. I really enjoy my pair of Dansko sandals and suggested he get himself a pair. There’s also a promotion at a local shoe store with pairs of Naot sandals going for nearly half price. I’ve heard good things about the brand too. I hope he gets a pair of Naot or Dansko sandals this time.

Ah! Aunt Alicia is coming home this weekend. Clarisse loves her because she always bring back tons of toys, sweets, chocolates, biscuits and new clothes for her whenever she visit us. She has already told me she bought three sets of clothes for baby Edward and Clarisse from a best buy promotion. She also bought a baby musical mobile for baby Edward and some story books for Clarisse. That should cheer her up. I told her to skip the chocolates and biscuits as Clarisse has just recovered from sore throat. Don’t want her getting sick again so soon.

Honestly, I did not expect or could ever imagine my confinement month to be so stressful and exhausting. Juggling between baby Edward and Clarisse, rarely getting enough rest and sleep, has finally taken its toll on my body. I really did not expect Clarisse to be so difficult, refuse to let everyone else take care of her but me.
My body started to develop red and itchy rashes two nights ago. Within 12 hours, it got much worst. The rashes spread from hair to toe and clumps together to form even bigger patches of rash. This is a common type of rash called urticaria or hives. The Chinese call it “fung mok”. It is usually trigger by some sort of allergy. Especially allergy to alcohol in herbal liquour such as DOM or Yomeishu I’m currently consuming. In some cases, stress could also lead to hives and if this is the partly to blame, I’m surely not surprised. The rashes have not subside for two days now. To make things worst, I’m running a slight temperature as well.
Clarisse is crying more than baby Edward. She throws a tantrum when irritated by the slightest insignificant thing. Eat rice, take a bath, change pyjamas, watch cartoon, go downstairs, go upstairs, drink water, potty time … she’s refuses everything we asks her to do. Driving everyone up the wall with the whims. Its definitely no joke when people refer to two year olds as terrible twos.

Today my husband starts his detox routine. We practise detox and colon cleanse program every year since more than five years ago. Usually, we’d do it together but he wanted to do it earlier this year while I’m still in my confinement period. I can’t really say whether detoxification helped improve our general well being but I suppose it couldn’t hurt. With the amount of toxic laden processed food we eat these days, we need all the help we can get to rid our bodies of toxicity.

Everyday is a struggle to take care of baby Edward and most of all, Clarisse. Clarisse has pretty much recovered from her stomach flu she suffered last week. Her mood too is getting better but still she insists on getting my undivided attention. The moment she wants me when I’m no where in sight, she cries. No one could pacify her when she does that which is very annoying and stressful for everyone else in the family. She is making me very angry at times and testing my patience.
I’m suffering from lack of sleep. Things around here has been so busy. My mother-in-law’s maid, who came here to help out last week has to leave temporarily because she too fell sick. Just when we really need a pair of helping hands, what bad luck.

My sister buys most of her iphone accessories online. Why don’t you buy them locally I asked? She said its difficult to find some of the better accessories around here because retailers usually carry cheap and easy to sell items. So the only option is to have someone buy them overseas and bring it back to you. Or best of all, shop and order it online. None of the items ordered online were faulty or had to be refunded. And the shipping and payment has been trouble free so far. Just buy from a reputable online shop to be safe.

My husband brought back and asked me whether he should buy a second hand xbox 360, a popular gaming console by Microsoft. His friend who is selling it is willing to knock off 40% of its original retail price and he’s tempted. I know its a good deal but where can we find the time for video games? Six months down the road? Perhaps even a year? I said why buy electronic equipments just to leave it sitting there because we barely have any free time to do anything. But still I can’t deny its a sweet deal for a 9-month old gaming console. The condition is nearly mint.

Clarisse woke up at 7.30am feeling miserable, as usual for the past few days. The first thing she asks for is momma. My husband couldn’t even bother to persuade her not to bother me anymore because she just won’t listen. No one can make her stop crying except me. So we just let her cry while I drag myself out of bed and feed her breakfast.
She still has a low-grade fever. Her runny nose is starting to dry up. But she is still feeling miserable, crabby and fussy. I changed her clothes after breakfast and prepare to go to our paediatrician but as soon as I’m done, she wants to sleep instead. So we decided to postpone our appointment to afternoon. I could use a few more hours of morning sleep too.

My husband brought home a new dip machine for upper body workouts. He had a 2-hour tennis session with his coach after a one year hiatus. He came home looking absolutely exhausted and told me he is feeling his age. The lack of tennis and workout sessions in the past one year has made his upper body strength gone way down. He was struggling to swing his favourite tennis racket. With the new dip machine, he intends to stop the rut and work out to increase upper body muscles. I’m glad he didn’t insist on spending more time at the gym. With the new baby around, I definitely need his help around the house a lot more.
