RV insurance quotes

A recreational vehicle (RV) or motorhome insurance coverage is different from normal auto coverage. At Good Sam’s, you can find the most comprehensive insurance coverage specially tailored to protect your RVs. An RV insurer doesn’t just treat your vehicle as just a ‘big car’. It treats it more like a home. For instance, a normal auto insurance doesn’t cover what’s inside your RV. Nor would it cover permanent attachments such as antennas or awnings. How about savings meant specificially for RV owners? A normal auto insurance doesn’t take into account such money saving benefits or discounts available only for RV owners. Get your RV insurance quote from Good Sam VIP, the professional RV insurer.

Vinegar and rice liquid to treat worsening dyshidrosis attack on the palms

My husband has Dyshidrosis. It is an eczema related condition of the skin, usually affecting the palm and fingers. He realised he had this condition for many years but it got worst in the last 2 years. Probably because he started to help out more in household chores, getting his hands in contact with water and detergent a lot more.

The symptoms of Dyshidrosis starts with tiny itchy blisters on his palms and fingers. When scratched the blisters break and release a serum usually under the skin. Within a day or two, the area starts to dry and crust. And this is when the pain starts because the dry skin cracks.

And lately, in the last 2 months, his condition got quite bad. Nearly half his right palm suffered from constant blistering which in turn caused many painful cracks in the thick dry crusted skin area. Itchy blisters pop up before the skin has time to heal. Further aggravating the condition.

His grandma suggested he dip his palms into vinegar+rice liquid every night before he sleeps. Today is the fourth day he tried this remedy and we are seeing good results. The itching has stopped and this is the most important thing. Without the itchy blisters, the dry cracked skin will have time to heal. We’ll see how his grandma’s remedy of using vinegar+rice liquid works out in the long run.

Mens wedding ring

My husband’s gold wedding ring has been worn out of shape. Gold is not exactly a hard material. The ring on his finger is now oval instead of a perfect circle. He decided to buy a titanium ring to be worn everyday. Compared to gold or silver, titanium is said to be much harder and tougher. It is lightweight and corrosion resistant. The use of titanium is getting more popular as more jewellers come up with new and contemporary ring designs. After more than 30 minutes at the mens wedding ring section, he bought a greyish, brushed metal titanium ring. I have to say it looks very good. Very suitable for guys.

My new Android phone Samsung Galaxy Wonder

I bought myself a new toy last week: Samsung Galaxy Wonder! My first Android smartphone. And my most expensive phone to date. I was never really into phones but my husband suggested I give Android a try. The cheapest Android phone by Samsung is the Galaxy Mini, but it will be replaced by a newer entry model very soon, the Galaxy Y. The Mini was my pick but my husband didn’t like the small resolution screen. So the next step up is the Galaxy Ace, with a much bigger screen and higher resolution. But the store assistant told us to add a bit more money and get Galaxy Wonder, a much better phone than the aging Galaxy Ace. I am very pleased with the Wonder.

The most demanding apps are usually graphic-intensive games. I don’t know if my Galaxy W could cope with those but it had no problems with Angry Birds or Cut The Rope. Gameplay was very smooth.

The function I use most so far is the 5MP camera to shoot both stills and 720p video clips. Photo image quality is good and more than sufficient for 4R sized prints. 720p video are good too but I find it lacking in sharpness. Still it was much better than my digicam’s 640×480 pixel videos.

Between Clarisse and Edward, we have bought all the birds featured in Angry Birds game, except the Mighty Eagle which I’ve yet to find in toy stores near us. The latest update of Angry Birds Season, add new levels of Halloween themed fun. This update also introduced us to a new bird, an ‘orange’ bird that inflates into a big balloon. The kids are asking us to find and buy it for them. Angry Birds toys are a hit in gift and toy stores everywhere. Teddy bears and dolls no longer occupy the front window. It is now adorned with soft toys from Angry Birds, Smurfs, Plant vs Zombies game, Cut the Rope game.

One more week to school holidays

One more week to go before the big school holidays. Looking back, I can’t believe how fast the year have passed. It felt like just yesterday when we send Clarisse to her first day in school and feeling so happy she didn’t gave us the first-day-of-school blues. The entire class was chaotic with kids crying and shouting for their parent’s attention.

Next year, Clarisse won’t be joining most of her current classmates. Classes will be divided into English and Chinese. We registered Clarisse for the Chinese classes hoping she’d be exposed to Chinese as much as possible in school. I hope she won’t cry when school reopens when she see her new teachers and classmates.

Wow. Just one more week and she’d be home like every day. With her around, Edward is more active and playful. The house will be a lot noisier than usual. More headaches for us.

Credit report

Having worked in a bank for nearly a decade I know firsthand how someone’s credit rating affect their chances of getting loans approved. Banks have your entire credit history at a click of a button. Your credit report shows the amount you borrowed, amount you paid back, whether you pay your bills on time and more. It helps to determine your chances of having your bank loans approved. My superior is a loans officer and I dealt with a lot of loan matters. And I can say, despite banks sometimes relaxes their loan requirements, a bad credit report is as good as waving goodbye to your loan. So cut down on the number of credit cards. Keep your debts to a minimum. Pay them on time.

Business desktops

My husband’s client has given 5 used business desktops away to be reconditioned and donated to pre-schools and kindergartens. These Intel Core 2 Quad machines which I believe were used for video and graphics creation are barely 4 years old and most of them are in pretty good working condition. These desktops are still quite powerful and more than sufficient for general computing. It will be such a waste if these were sent to recycling spots. We’ll have them cleaned, checked, repair it if needed and help set it up.
