Medical ID jewellery

I’m embarassed to say I was once ignorant enough to not know what a medical ID engraved jewellery is. Why would anyone engrave their patient identification number on a bracelet I thought to myself. *LOL* How terribly wrong of me to interpret a medical ID as a registration number at your local medical institution.

Selecting shoes for Baby Clarisse

Yesterday was a milestone for baby Clarisse when it comes to learning to walk on her own. She gathered enough courage and managed to walk a few steps towards me without any support.

It was apparent she realised those few steps are a big achievement as her face lit up with a smile to show how happy and proud she was. Immediately, baby Clarisse felt so enjoyable she walked to and fro between me and my husband repeatedly until she tires.

Travelling feels like a chore with a baby

My husband and I rarely travel anymore. In fact, my mom received some vouchers for a free 2-nights stay at First World Genting Hotel, 2 rooms and invited us to join them on the trip. Having just came back from KL last week, my husband’s reaction was “Not again?!” …

My weight is increasing again

Guess what, my weight has been on the increase for the past few months much to my dismay. After giving birth to baby Clarisse, I saw my weight dropping for the following few months. Then at around 8-9 months I noticed the scales aren’t decreasing in numbers anymore and slowly gaining weight instead. My diet hasn’t changed. I’m eating the same portions as I’ve been eating in the past year or so.

Four days in KL

I just came back after four days in KL as our family went there to attend my youngest sister’s University Malaya convocation last week.

Only my parents went to the event because I know firsthand how packed the university area is going to be during convocations. I had mine roughly two years ago. The place will be jammed with cars and people. True enough, as my parents relate to us after the event, they were exhausted having to walk around the university compound packed with cars and people. Its tough to walk so don’t even think you can drive around in a car. They came home around 2.30pm, showered, ate and went straight for their afternoon nap.

Catching up with some ex-colleagues

I bumped into two ex-colleagues of mine yesterday at a restaurant during lunch time. One of them is a marketing manager and the other is a very successful sales executive in the developer firm we worked for.

We had a good 30 minute chat to catch up on things and apparently they left the developer firm a couple of months ago. Due to various management issues which I was not spared the details, not that I’m interested anyway. They are now working as realtors in a commercial real estate company I’ve never even heard of but it sounds like they’re really happy and doing quite well. Not surprising considering the two of them were the best sales person in our former company.

WiFi internet access available now at our regular coffee shop

My husband favourite coffee haunt is a shabby old kopitiam in town. We were there yesterday afternoon to kill some time. Then we saw a couple of computer technician arrive and went about setting up modem, routers and wifi access point. The owner’s son told us that they’ll be setting up WiFi internet access for the customers.

Breastfed baby sleeps better after weaning

For the past one over month, I’ve used this blog as a ranting ground to write about my struggle with baby Clarisse’s weaning. She used to wake up at around 3 to 4am in the morning hungry demanding to be fed. But the frustration is not that I have to drag my tired self out of bed. It’s feeding her milk and cereals that drives me and my husband bonkers. She would refuse, struggle and put up a fight whenever being fed milk and cereals despite her hunger. The situation is slowly improving and she seems to give in to her milk and cereals lately though not without some toys or distraction.

I noticed she’s sleeping longer during the past two weeks. Most of the time, she would sleep right through the night, from 8-9pm to 6-7am without feeding. Whenever she does cry during the night, I just give her some water and she would doze off again. She is bound to wake up before 8am in the morning due to hunger.

Diet pills to complement exercise and dieting

Need help getting your weight down? To complement exercise and proper dieting, diet pills help suppress your appetite. It can be really helpful to those of us who couldn’t control our urge to eat. Let’s face it, sometimes no matter how hard you try to resist it, good food has a way of making us let our guard down. Thats when all our hard work at the gym and strict diet regimen all go to waste. Phentermine 37.5 mg tablets are one of the most powerful dieting pills. Although it has proven to be extremely effective as an appetite suppressant, you may want to try a less stronger Phentermine dosage to avoid side effects which may trigger allergic reactions.

What to look for in a good childcare centre

It’s your right to be picky. Your baby or toddler may spend up to half a day in it so as responsible and caring parents, you have to make sure you’re leaving them in a safe, caring and fun environment.

Choosing a day-care centre, like many things in life involving your baby or toddler, is never easy. Heck, I’ve been through numerous paeditricians for several months before settling for the best one I could find. Which brings about the question, what makes a childcare centre good? What sort of criteria must it possess to quality as the childcare centre of choice? Of course, there’s no such thing as perfect. What appears to be the perfect childcare centre to you may not suit another parent. So word-of-mouth should be taken with a grain of salt. Try your best, be patient and draw up a list of criterias on what you look for in a childcare centre. Think about what is important and your expectations in a childcare centre. As a start, here’s a few things to consider:
