I shall be shopping for some floor padding tomorrow. Those square foamy padding with alphabets or numbers. Lay them on the floor and let baby Edward learn how to stand on his own. And learn to take his first few steps. Right now we can’t let go whenever he’s standing or walking a few steps. He still can’t do those without any support. But he absolutely enjoys standing on his own two feet. So much so he would cry whenever we lift him off the floor. My cousin’s baby boy walked quite stably on his own by the time he’s 11 months old. So I guess its about time baby Edward to get more practise.

This morning, my dad had the plumber replaced a leaky kitchen faucet with a nice one – Kohler. He bought it at a hardware store last week during the promotional period for nearly 25% off the retail price. Even with the discount, it is still fairly expensive. But Kohler kitchen faucets are renowned for their quality, reliability and design. It is a tough piece of hardware and should see many many years of trouble-free use.

Breast feeding has to be one of the most effective ways for new moms to lose weight. Many new mothers experience quick weight loss within months of giving birth when breast feeding exclusively. I fully breastfed Clarisse until she was a year old. In the first six months, I lost quite a bit of weight. But baby Edward wasn’t exclusively breastfed. And I can tell you I shed weight a lot slower. So I can say for sure breast feeding do help you lose weight much quicker.

Baby Edward is now courageous enough let go of both hands while standing. The past few weeks, he would stand and walk holding or leaning against some sort of support. He can now let his hands go, stand and balance for a few seconds before grabbing for support again. Judging from his face, he is excited and knows we are excited too. We would clap our hands and encourage him to try standing up without support. Baby Edward is more adventurous than Clarisse was at his age. I guess boys will be boys.

Bathing baby Edward has always been a struggle. He could never sit still in the bathtub. His hands are always splashing the water while kicking his legs non-stop as I bathe him. The only way to keep him still enough is occupy his attention with toys. Or whatever stuff he fancies.
Just yesterday, he’s making it even tougher to bathe him. He doesn’t even want to sit! He kept wanting to stand up. He’d cry and struggle whenever I try to press him down to sit. I can’t bathe him with one hand constantly holding him as he can’t stand on his own yet.
The struggle doesn’t end in the bathroom. It resumes when I try to cloth him. He’d wriggle left and right when I try to button up his shirt. Legs kicking always when I try to put his pants on. He’s so impatient to turn and crawl away. Most times, not even toys can keep his attention long enough to stay still and let me finish clothing him.
He’s nine and a half months now. I dread to imagine how naughty he’d be at one.

Looking back at some of my photos taken when I was in my twenties, I was reminded how bad my adult acne problem was. For about a year during my mid-twenties, my face suffers from ugly breakouts and pimples. I had no idea what triggered it. It was worst than the breakouts I had when I was a teenager. It was terrible and I remember being quite depressed about it. I spent a lot of money on adult acne treatments and dietary supplements. Also making a lot of changes to my diet and lifestyle. Luckily, the acne problem subsided and never came back. That was nearly ten years ago.
