Edward is 22 months now but not a single person I’ve met think he looks his age. It’s because he’s yet to grow much hair. I see newborn with more hair on their head than Edward. When I tell people he’s nearly two, they are usually very surprised.
And because I’m so used to Edward being such a babyface, I’m surprised some of the toddlers I met are younger than him. Several times I asked Edward to call them ‘koh koh’. Turns out they are a few months younger than Edward.

I accompanied one of my friends to jewellers and goldsmiths around town today. She needed some cash in a rush and decided to sell some gold masonic jewelry, mostly rings. The recent US debt crisis has given gold prices another push since the financial meltdown of October 2008. Even though goldsmiths quote a much lower price when buying from us, she still manage to sell her gold jewelry for more than ten thousand dollars. A very good price for gold bought with a fraction of the money nearly two decades ago.

My favourite local pharmacy which I’ve been buying my vitamins, drugs, medical equipment and supplies for the past many years now has an online shop. Apparently they have been running it for nearly two years. I didn’t know about it until I googled them online last night. Now I can get my pharmaceutical stuff delivered to my doorstep without driving to the city. Among all the local pharmacies in my city, they give me the lowest prices on nearly every item I’ve ever bought. They carry the most extensive inventory of pharmaceutical needs. And their staff are very experienced and knowledgeable.

Edward is starting to show signs of terrible two. He is nearly 22 months old now. We are about to face another terrible two toddler and we’re terrified. Having went through Clarisse’s terrible two stage, I kinda know what to expect. But what terrifies me is that Edward is more aggressive than his sister by far.
Clarisse, even at two, has a softer side. Her problems at that time were mainly seeking attention. I was pregnant with Edward and after he was born, that’s when Clarisse started to become a handful. Thankfully though, she loves her brother and never once hit him badly despite him taking lots of our attention away from her. She yearned for my attention and care but with Edward around, I just couldn’t be there for her 24/7. I’m glad she is over that stage now.
With Edward now, we’ll be dealing with much more aggression. I dread what we’re about to face in the coming months. I’m not that bothered by what mischieves he’ll be up to alone, it’s when the two of them are together that drives me up the wall. Never an hour goes by the two of them won’t fight. And most of the time when they do fight, Edward is the one to blame. I’m bracing myself for more of these fights.

I received several birth announcements this year but one stood out among the rest. Thinking about it makes me believe there is always hope and, perhaps even miracles. My long time friend, we were schoolmates, has been trying for a baby for nearly ten years. She tried to conceive through IVF but failed in all three attempts. It was financially and emotionally exhausting for her but she did not quit. Alas, she conceived and gave birth to a healthy baby girl on end of May. I cannot imagine how relieved and happy she must be right now. I feel so happy for her.

I took my temperature a while ago. The reading says 38.2c. I’m kinda surprised by my temperature because I can’t remember the last time my fever is this bad. In fact, I can’t even recall when my last fever was. My body and joints are painful. While tucking baby Edward in, the room felt so cold I had to hop out of bed to get a jacket. The air-conditioner is set to 27c, low fan and the draft wasn’t even blowing directly at the bed. Still, I was shivering. I haven’t felt this bad in a long time. Popped two Panadol Actifast before I go to sleep later. I hope I’d wake up feeling better. Wish me luck.

Paternity testing while pregnant, should you want to do one for whatever reasons, can now be non-invasive. This is a huge development because previously, paternity testing during pregnancy involves taking amniotic fluids from the womb. A procedure called amniocentesis although accurate poses certain risks that includes miscarriage at worst. We now have state-of-the-art non-invasive procedure whereby only a blood sample is taken for analysis. Results of paternity test is accurate and available in just 5 days.

I’m currently shopping for a new phone and I’m thinking of moving up from normal cell phones to smart phones. Preferrably smart phones running Android Gingerbread OS. I’ve been using samsung cell phones for as long as I can remember so naturally I’m inclined to remain a Samsung user. My sights are set on the new Samsung Galaxy S II eventhough it is slightly out of my budget. A Galaxy S II will set me back enough money to cover the cost of ten years’ worth of handphones I’ve used in the past. Therefore, I’m hunting for the best package deals around to see which carrier offers the Galaxy S II the cheapest.

Queen Elizabeth II greets Najib is yellow 'BERSIH' dress
Queen E shows the world how to send a strong message across without saying a thing. By welcoming Najib and Rosmah in a yellow dress, in a yellow adorned room, Queen E has given the press much to write about. By my interpretation, this reception is more like a tight slap to Najib’s face. On behalf of most Malaysians who support Bersih, thank you very much Queen Elizabeth II.
