My long time friend Ling whom I saw today, after 2 years, was a pleasant surprise. I remember 2 or 3 years ago I recommend she try diet and weight loss supplements to complement her cardio workouts. She leads a fairly active lifestyle. Works out diligently but probably due to her genes, found it tough to slim down. So I suggested a few popular weight loss products at that time. Diet pills that work fast, efficiently and scientifically proven to be safe. Happy to say, she has lost a lot of weight since then. I could hardly recognise her at all. Again that goes to show if one decides to lose weight the healthy way, nothing beats a strict exercise and dieting routine.

There are only two things Clarisse love about school now. Dismissal and
school playground equipment. Gone are the days when she’d be smiling all the way to school. She doesn’t look forward to learning ABC’s and 123′s now that teaching is in full swing. Even worst, her Mandarin teacher told me she’s doing quite badly in learning chinese. It’s hard to wake her up in the mornings. We have to put up with her crankiness and she’d be pouting all the way to school. Luckily, she finds singing and being in company with her friends pleasurable. Or else she would be crying to school every day.

After years of gathering dust in the tool shed, my husband have finally got the old lawnmover fixed and ready for use. The old honda lawnmower has been left unused for years because he’s lazy to mow the garden. But due to certain circumstances, we are forced to mow the lawn ourselves. Some neighbour issues I’m reluctant to dwell upon. Anywayz, I was expecting a big repair bill but turned out, it needs only an oil change and greasing up certain motor parts. Overall the condition of the motor is excellent.

Inspired by those tasty chocolated-covered strawberries in chocolate gift baskets at Sharis Berries, Clarisse and I tried our hands at making and decorating some chocolate strawberries. We bought some fresh strawberries at the market. Picked up some chocolate bars, chocolate rice and chips at the groceries. I melted the chocolate liquor, dipped the strawberries and have the chocolate set before Clarisse starts decorating them. She wrote and draw colourful stuff on them. We put the finished chocolate strawberries in the fridge and told her we’d eat them after dinner. She was very anxious to eat them. Although it didn’t taste as good as Sharis, it’s been a great and fun afternoon for Clarisse.

I related our stolen shoes incident with our neighbours. They too told me about their share of misfortunes involving shoes being stolen. Most of it committed by young boys and drugs addicts as big time thieves don’t bother about shoes, no matter how branded or expensive. Theft is quite common in this area it seems. Everything gets stolen from worthless shoes to cars and it happens even during daytime. Just last week a neighbour two houses away was robbed of outdoors items – golf shoes, equestrian boots, metal tools.
