I related our stolen shoes incident with our neighbours. They too told me about their share of misfortunes involving shoes being stolen. Most of it committed by young boys and drugs addicts as big time thieves don’t bother about shoes, no matter how branded or expensive. Theft is quite common in this area it seems. Everything gets stolen from worthless shoes to cars and it happens even during daytime. Just last week a neighbour two houses away was robbed of outdoors items – golf shoes, equestrian boots, metal tools.
Talk about bad luck. Bad things happen all at once. It usually does. We just realised our tennis and running shoes were stolen! It must have happened wee hours in the morning and we only realise it in the afternoon. My husband have a pair of shoes for tennis and another pair for running. Whereas I have one pair for tennis and two pairs of Adidas shoes for running. One pair happens to be my favourite. Thieves are really getting more desperate these days. Our shoes are worn and old. Having cords running behind my PC table is a safety hazard when you have a walking baby around. Baby Edward is one curious little boy and nearly caused a big mishap today. I went to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, took barely 5 seconds, Edward went under the PC table and pulled the voltage stabilizer cord. The voltage stabilizer in turn connects to the monitor, CPU, NAS, cable router, iPad dock and the PC speakers. Baby Edward pulled so strong that the voltage stabilizer nearly fell off the table. Luckily it was a wee bit too big to go through the gap between the table and the wall. Tomorrow I would need to install cord covers to hide the main cable from the floor to the table level.

I will be staying at my mom’s house for 2 nights. My husband is required to spend two days or more away from home. The entire software team who is responsible for document management software is called up due to some technical problems and hardware failure. It is an urgent problem and needs to be fixed asap. We had plans for the weekend and on Monday, both Clarisse and Edward has an appointment with their doctor. I will need to arrange for someone else to accompany me to the hospital instead.
