It’s been 3 months since Clarisse started to willingly go to bed all by herself. Without me tucking her as in ever since she’s born. We are very happy she started to adopt a more independent approach to sleeping. Before this, I had to spend at least 30 minutes by her side every nite just to make her sleep. And after baby Edward was born, my husband too had to devote 30 minutes of his time every night to cradle him to sleep. Or just to keep him distracted or entertained to spare me the time it takes for Clarisse to doze off. Nowadays, all Clarisse wants is her story book time, where either daddy or me would read a couple of bedtime story books.

I don’t know phase he’s in at six months now but since last week, baby Edward is noticeably more clingy than usual. He wants to be carried always but now he wants only me to carry him. Not even his dad can carry him for more than 15 minutes before he’d cry for me.
I know I shouldn’t rant or complain coz that’s how most babies are. They want attention and hate being confined to the high chair, bouncy net or play pen. But phew, it is really time and energy consuming to be carrying all day long.

Two bottles of diet pills is now sitting on my shelf. Both bottles contain weight loss supplement which contains phentermine. Phentermine diet pills is clinical proven to be 10-15% more effective in losing weight than diet and exercise. But as effective as it sounds, I stopped using it after reading about it’s side effects at phenterminedietpill.org. Having sent the kids to my mom’s place this afternoon, I hurried to my usual beauty center to have a facial and anti wrinkle treatment. My first in years, so much so I could barely remember the last time I pampered my face to such extent. My husband picked me an hour later and we went for a movie. How long has it been since my last movie? Ironman. More than a year ago I’m certain. It’s such a great and relaxing afternoon when the kids are being babysit.

Dermitage, now where have I heard this name before. That’s what I thought when I saw this line of skincare products being promoted at a local spa last weekend. It took me quite a while to recall. My friend Janet told me about trying out Dermitage products the last time we met over drinks two months ago. She’s been hearing good things about it and read about dermitage reviews on the web. We will meet again this weekend and I’ll be asking about Dermitage for sure.

I weight myself this morning and knew my day is going to be splendid. I dropped 1.5kg in less than a month! These are times that make you damn good and worth the effort spent dieting, exercising and doing it consistently. I know how demoralising and disappointing it can be when the best diet aids and practises doesn’t seem to work. Sometimes we are not patient and want instant results. I’ve been in that situation many times whenever I try something new to lose weight. But as time go by, I learnt the best discipline is patience and persistence.

Do you know what a spirometer is? Spirometer is a device used by doctors to measure lung function ability. Doctors use spirometers to measure how much air flow in and out of a patient’s lungs. What leads to the use of spirometers? Usually when patients complain of breathing difficulty or for smokers over 45 years of age. I never knew what a spirometer is before. Until a friend of mine, who’s husband was admitted into the hospital due to breathing difficulties, told me about the procedures. Her husband has been a smoker for more than 30 years. His diagnostic reported no serious health problems but doctors gave him a stern ultimatum to quit smoking immediately. So people, why smoke? Quit while you can.

Both the master bedroom’s toilet and kitchen faucets are giving me problems. The toilet faucet, no matter how much I turn, the water flow stays the same when it reaches a certain output. Sometimes the water doesn’t flow out at all. The kitchen faucet has been dripping water for a week now. But the leak is getting worst the last two days despite tightening the screw with a spanner. Time to call a plumber.

My uncle, who’s house I’m now renting, has agreed to install wood blinds in front of the house to shade against the hot sun rays penetrating our living room curtains. His house faces the west where the sun sets. The dry season in the past couple of months was so hot our air-con were running throughout the day and night. Our electricity bill, which nearly doubled, reminded how much we used our air-con last month. Hopefully with some blinds in front of the large living room windows, we can feel cooler.
