I’ve started to shop for my Chinese New Year (CNY) clothes during this season of Xmas and New Year holiday sales. I’m lucky to find lots of stuff I like and bought plenty. So I don’t need to rush to look for my CNY clothes anymore.
Passing by shelves of cheap maternity clothes made me wonder. Will we be lucky enough to be blessed with another baby in 2012? My husband and I always pictured ourselves with three kids. That’s the number of kids we talked about having before we even got married.
But we did consider stopping at number two. After having Edward, our lives turned upside down. Taking care of the house and two screaming kids can be overwhelming. The word parenting sounds scary to us now. I understand why couples usually have no more than 2 or 3 kids these days.
Now that Edward is two years old, we are starting to consider trying for number three. Honestly we are no where near the enthusiasm we had when trying to conceive Clarisse. Apart from the joys of seeing kids grow, our minds are now filled with the non-so-pleasant realities of parenting, which are full of headaches and worries. And bringing up two kids, is financially draining. Medical cost these days are obscene. But my age is catching up and it’s now or never coz I don’t plan on having children after 36.

My husband’s gold wedding ring has been worn out of shape. Gold is not exactly a hard material. The ring on his finger is now oval instead of a perfect circle. He decided to buy a titanium ring to be worn everyday. Compared to gold or silver, titanium is said to be much harder and tougher. It is lightweight and corrosion resistant. The use of titanium is getting more popular as more jewellers come up with new and contemporary ring designs. After more than 30 minutes at the mens wedding ring section, he bought a greyish, brushed metal titanium ring. I have to say it looks very good. Very suitable for guys.

Between Clarisse and Edward, we have bought all the birds featured in Angry Birds game, except the Mighty Eagle which I’ve yet to find in toy stores near us. The latest update of Angry Birds Season, add new levels of Halloween themed fun. This update also introduced us to a new bird, an ‘orange’ bird that inflates into a big balloon. The kids are asking us to find and buy it for them. Angry Birds toys are a hit in gift and toy stores everywhere. Teddy bears and dolls no longer occupy the front window. It is now adorned with soft toys from Angry Birds, Smurfs, Plant vs Zombies game, Cut the Rope game.

Having worked in a bank for nearly a decade I know firsthand how someone’s credit rating affect their chances of getting loans approved. Banks have your entire credit history at a click of a button. My husband’s client has given 5 used business desktops away to be reconditioned and donated to pre-schools and kindergartens. These Intel Core 2 Quad machines which I believe were used for video and graphics creation are barely 4 years old and most of them are in pretty good working condition. These desktops are still quite powerful and more than sufficient for general computing. It will be such a waste if these were sent to recycling spots. We’ll have them cleaned, checked, repair it if needed and help set it up.
