Giving Clarisse’s room a slight makeover is also on my list of things to do. She doesn’t like her room much and I understand. It doesn’t look like a kid’s room at all. The white paint on the walls are stained and peeling. First of all, the giant wardrobe has to be dismantled and replaced with something more colourful. Heck the whole room needs more colour which is why I decide to give it a pastel rainbow makeover. The dreary fluorescent tube lights has to go and make way for flower and animal themed LED colourful lights. I shall also be replacing her bedframe with one that comes with a custom mattress headboard. With her favourite cartoon characters painted on it. And we’ll be taking two of these as Edward will soon be joining her sister in one room.

I’ve long decided on replacing the old and damaged parquet upstairs with laminate flooring. My friend’s house was renovated last year and I was very impressed by the laminated flooring she used. It may not feel exactly like real wood but it certainly looks like it. No matter the aesthetics, laminated floor is very tough and durable. Resists stain, scrathes and impact well. Excellent value for money too and fast becoming the preferred choice of flooring for many homeowners. I don’t have much money to spend of renovations. Most of it is spent on necessary repairs. So I guess laminated flooring is the way to go.

My uncle came home last week to sign the necessary documents to sell his house. In about a month’s time, the house will be officially ours. Yay! And a mere hop for joy. Not jumping for joy yet. Here’s why. The condition of the house is a mess and seriously in need of repairs. I’m consulting a few contractors about door and window frame replacements, laminate flooring and minor fixes and renovations around the house. I’m trying to keep the repair bill below five figures. At least for now. I estimate it would take around 50k to cover what I have in mind for next two year’s worth of renovation and repair work.

You don’t need a diamond ring to propose to your partner. If you couldn’t afford it, don’t let it stop you from proposing to your girlfriend. An engagement ring symbolises a union of two people in love and marks the start of a life together. There are many romantic and affordable alternatives to a diamond ring, gemstone engagement rings for instance, are equally popular and meaningful. There are many couples who got engaged with ruby or sapphire rings. Diamond ring doesn’t make an engagement more special than others.

For next year’s anniversary I wish to get a slim leather laptop bag for my husband. I have browsed briefcases for men at the local shopping malls recently and narrowed down to a few choices. He doesn’t carry much documents. At most just a notebook PC, a file or two and a memo. These days he doesn’t even need to carry his notebook’s battery charger because his new ultrabook PC has very long battery life compared to his old one. At 80% charged, his ultrabook can run up to 6 hours before a recharge is needed. And it’s much lighter than his old notebook too. So I’m looking for a slim leather laptop bag. Smaller, lighter, easier to carry and look much better than his current worn-out bag.

The purpose of eyelashes is protect your eye from sand, dust, bugs and liquid. But no one really cares about what they do as long as their eyelashes are long and lush. Vanity beats functions everytime. Our eyelashes grow naturally but as we age, they thin. Just like our hair. Your eyelashes demands gentle care because they are fine and delicate. Eat to ensure healthy eyelash growth. If you put mascara, clean them off with a cotton ball every night before you sleep. Like your hair, eyelashes can benefit from the moisturisers and keratin based solutions.

I replaced my printer’s ink cartridge today. Bought two new canon ink cartridges at the local IT promotional fair yesterday for a big discount. My laser printer has served me well the last couple of years. I don’t print much these days and one ink cartridge can last up to 3 years. The great thing about laser printers, unlike inkjet printers, is the ink doesn’t dry up after sometime. My mom replace more inkjet cartridges than I do but prints even less than me. Replacements are needed because of dry and clogged ink in the cartridge head. Not because it’s empty.
