My new pair of wide shoes for women which I bought last week is very comfortable. I anticipated I’d be doing a lot of walking in the holidays and I needed something more comfortable. And stable too, coz Edward will want me to carry him whenever he’s tired or just too plain lazy to walk. My new pair of shoes is flat with generous amount of padding making it very soft and comfortable. And it is slightly wider than usual which gives my feet a lot of wiggle room. I’m really glad I bought it for the holidays. It has prevented a few blisters and sore foot.

My shades got smashed today when Edward stomped on it. He was being very playful in the car, and somehow without me realising, he got hold of my shades were on the dashboard. The shades ended up on the car seat and I only realise it when Edward was jumping and I hear something cracked. Ray Bans aren’t exactly cheap so needless to say I was absolutely furious. I scolded him and warned him not to fool around in the car anymore. And don’t ever dare to lay his hands on my glasses anymore. Which I’m sure have fallen on deaf ears.

My family celebrated our dad’s birthday tonight. My sisters, most of whom came home since last week for CNY holidays, decided to stay the entire week until my dad’s birthday today. They are leaving tomorrow morning. We rarely get the opportunity to stay in one roof for long periods of time. It has been a wonderful week long holiday.
It’s alway sad when happy times pass by so fast. I really dread going back to the same old boring every day routine. It will sink in when I wake up at 7am Monday preparing Clarisse for school. I’m already looking forward to school break in March.

My sister-in-law called this morning jumping with joy. She had just won the grand prize of her annual dinner’s lucky draw – a 42′ LCD TV! Earlier in the month all company staff enjoyed an all expense paid company trip to Maldives. We talked for about half and hour. She seems to be very happy with her new boss who treats her staff really well. Courteous and respectful to her staff. And pretty generous with work allowances and gifts for her office staff. I’m glad she’s working happily in the company. Why didn’t I get good bosses when I was working.

Edward got himself another good bout of scolding tonight. Recently he developed a habit of taking a small toy when going out. He would hold it in his hands wherever he walk. That’s fine except that he is also very forgetful. Whenever something gets his attention, he’d drop his toy and forget about it. We have lost toy watches, toy cars and this evening, his zombie yoyo. I’ve scolded him many times and forbid him to take any toys along outings but gave in because he’d never stop wailing. This is my last straw. No matter how bad his tantrum is, I will make sure his toys stay at home from now on.

Our iPad suffered it’s worst drop impact this evening. We were dining out and Edward as usual plays with the iPad. He decides to pull the iPad from the table to his high chair. It slipped and fell onto the floor. The iPad hit the sharp edge of the table’s leg and was dented near the speakers. The impact made such a huge bang all the diners in the restaurant turned towards us. The protective case didn’t stand a chance against a 3-foot drop straight onto a metal edge. Our iPad has been dropped a couple of times before this, but never this bad. I hope it didn’t cause any severe internal damage.

One of our local supermarket and grocer installed one of the best barcode scanner I’ve ever seen. Better than even ones found at Tesco and other hypermarkets. It is able to scan a barcode more than a feet away. Edward has a habit of taking stuff from our trolley and scan it just for the fun of it. I had to guide his hands to put the product as close as possible to barcode scanners. But with this particular barcode scanner, he is beeping away easily from the trolley nearly a feet away. And he doesn’t even have to put the barcode directly under the scanner. The range it can pick up a barcode is pretty impressive.

Someone asked me whether sending an e-card and flowers online lack sincerity. Well here’s what I think. Sending e-cards will never be as sincere or personal as sending traditional greeting cards. That’s just what I feel. Not everything we do in real life can leverage on the convenience of doing it online. Sending flowers though, is different IMO. Most of us already do this without lifting a finger. We simply ring up a florist, order a dozen flowers of our choice and have it delivered to someone, somewhere. So using the web to do the same thing, that is to send flowers online, won’t make it less sincere. If I were her, I’d take the time to shop for a greeting card and send it personally. The flowers can be sent from an online florist.
