I weight myself this morning and knew my day is going to be splendid. I dropped 1.5kg in less than a month! These are times that make you damn good and worth the effort spent dieting, exercising and doing it consistently. I know how demoralising and disappointing it can be when the best diet aids and practises doesn’t seem to work. Sometimes we are not patient and want instant results. I’ve been in that situation many times whenever I try something new to lose weight. But as time go by, I learnt the best discipline is patience and persistence.
I rarely watch talent shows nowadays having got bored watching American Idol until the 3rd or 4th season. But once in a while, these shows churn out a diamond in the rough – Paul Potts, Susan Boyle etc.

Last night, while changing baby Edward’s diaper, I accidently backed up and bumped Clarisse into a tub of water. It was bedtime but busy-body Clarisse came out and walked past behind me. I was busy changing Edward’s diaper to realise someone was behind me. Before I knew it, I heard a splash of water.
Clarisse was shocked to fell into the tub of cold water. Her face was partly submerged and her pyjamas was all wet. She got up wailing in shock. Papa rushed up the stairs, quickly gave her a warm shower and gave her a change of new jammies. All the while she was crying in the bathroom.
My uncle, who’s house I’m now renting, has agreed to install wood blinds in front of the house to shade against the hot sun rays penetrating our living room curtains. His house faces the west where the sun sets. The dry season in the past couple of months was so hot our air-con were running throughout the day and night. Our electricity bill, which nearly doubled, reminded how much we used our air-con last month. Hopefully with some blinds in front of the large living room windows, we can feel cooler.

That is one of the dumbest phrases ever uttered by our country’s politicians. And for it to come from the mouth of our Deputy Prime Minister makes it even more unbelievable. Unbelievably stupid that is. I know 1Malaysia is just a PR attempt to cover up UMNO’s ever racist and corrupt governance. But it still surprises me how dumb they are to shoot themselves in the foot by saying they are “Malay first, Malaysian second”.
This is a time when Najib is so actively promoting the concept of 1Malaysia where citizens are encouraged to call themselves Malaysians irrespective of race or color. How can Najib deceive the nation with his 1Malaysia plan when he himself endorses what DPM Muhyiddin said?
Further proof that our ruling regime, UMNO, is desperately running out of ideas. When nothing seems to work in their favour, the ever trusty racial card is called upon. Time and time again.
Malaysians, the ones that I know, are really bored and fed up already. Try something else lah, UMNO!
