My husband has been complaining about his workload lately. He’s so stressed and whenever that happens, he gets acne breakout. Probably due to lots of late nights and outside food. I dunno. He’s tried lots of so called best acne treatments but stress is sure to get those pimples popping out. I hope his current project wraps out soon. We might plan a short holiday after that. Provided if my mom is willing to take care of baby Edward for a couple of days.

My cousin Jane who dropped by for a visit during CNY suggested I give herbal diet pills a try. I have a feeling herbal diet pills won’t be quite as effective but can be a much healthier alternative. She has been using herbal diet pills on and off in the past few years ever since regular diet pills gave her an allergy. Luckily, regular diet products never gave me any health adverse effects, touch wood. But I only took them way below the recommended dosage. Still its exercise more, eat less and diet pills even less approach for me.

CNY is over. Our friends who were back last weekend went home yesterday. Since the CNY-eve, we’ve been eating out almost everyday. Drinks, tea time snacking and heavy dinner meals was the order of the day. Even Clarisse ate out as frequent as we did in the past one week. I avoided the weighing scale in the mornings coz I know 3 to 5kg weight gain is not a surprise for me. My husband too is feeling the strain of gluttony. His stomach feels bloated and lacks appetite. He’s going to start his detox and colon cleansing foods routine a bit early this year. As for me, I’m going on a diet again starting today.

The long hot and dry spell hitting us before CNY is really a drag. Save for an hour of rain two days ago, my area hasn’t seen rain for more than a week.
Our air-cons are running throughout the night and whenever the kids nap during the day. The utility bill is going to skyrocket this month. But I imagine everyone in the neighbourhood will have to pay extra for electricity this month. During Chinese New Year, our home experienced short blackouts due to shortage of electricity I presume. I bet everyone in the neighbourhood is sleeping with air-cons blowing at full blast.
House chores seem extra miserable under the sweltering heat. My husband showers no less than five times a day. The moment we step out of the shower, we sweat. Considering we have no luxury of relaxing under the fan, or even sitting still for more than 15 minutes, we are literally sweating the entire day.
The worst thing is our house faces west, where we face the sun everyday from 2pm to 7pm. You do not want to buy a house facing west, period. We are renting one now, but never would we be buying one. Even if being offered 20% below market value.

Eczema is a skin disorder with symptoms such as rashes, swelling, redness, dry crusting flaky skin and itchiness. My nephew suffered from eczema from the age of two. But has since controlled the symptoms of eczema after a year of trying out various eczema treatments. Eczema is an incurable skin disorder but with the right eczema treatments, the symptoms are manageable. Although dermatologists prescribe corticosteroids to relieve eczema symptoms, it is not advisable to rely on steroid-based medication in the long-term. One major side-effect of corticosteroids, in prolonged use, is increased risks of skin thinning and becoming fragile.

My complexion these days is terrible. Tired and lack of sleep is making my face look quite dreadful. To make things worst, I’ve got acne breakouts. Of all days, why must pimples pop up during Chinese New Year, a time where family and friends gather. I’m going on an all out acne spot treatment assault the past 2 days. Not that I’m expecting the acne to subside in merely a day or two. But at least, just to stop any pimples from breaking out.

Even been asked what is the best weight loss supplement? Well I have, plenty of times actually and I’m usually honest with my answer, which is – I don’t know coz my weight. The past few years, I’ve used quite a number of weight loss products. Followed numerous dieting routines and recommendation. And committed to varying intensity of aerobics and exercising. I didn’t keep tabs on my progress so I can’t say for sure which products helped, let alone how effective they are. But one thing is certain, without dieting and exercising, any product is useless. Moderation when it comes to food is a major key. As well as adopting a moderately active lifestyle.

Pre-employment screening is a common procedure along the process of employment. Before an employer approve of a potential candidate, a job seeker is usually required to undergo a pre-employment screening procedure, which checks a job seeker’s criminal history, academic records, former employers, former residences, credit status, driving history – among other things. In this day and age, we can be fairly certain pre-employment screening is a must for job seekers.

Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) has baffled doctors for decades. But is the mystery of SIDS, solved? A study led by researcher Dr Jhodie Duncan, of the Melbourne-based Florey Neuroscience Institutes, has discovered a clue to why seemingly healthy babies become victims of SIDS.
Dr Duncan’s team of researchers believe babies who suffered SIDS have insufficient serotonin, a neurotransmitter substance in the brainstem that regulates life sustaining bodily functions, one of which is breathing. Low level of serotonin may be the cause of why babies who die from SIDS, suddenly stops breathing. One of the responsibilities of serotonin is regulate breathing. When a baby’s breathing is distrupted, serotonin sends a signal to the brain to awake the baby.
I believe like me, every mother to a newborn or infant is spooked by stories of SIDS. I have read all about anti-SIDS safety practises. But this breakthrough study sheds scientific proof on SIDS. I hope further research goes into this study and soon in the future, newborns are routinely tested for serotonin deficiency.

Anyone for a surefire quick weight loss tip? Apart from my usual dieting, exercising and diet supplements, household chores is a major contributor to weight loss. Never underestimate how much time and effort a house takes. Even more so when you have kids around to take care of. Although it has been a stressful few months since Baby Edward was born, I am delighted at my weight loss pace. My husband too have lost a lot of weight due to helping out with household chores. Old clothes in the wardrobe, one size too small previously, can be worn again.
