There’s one hardware shop around my area which sells stuff at a ridiculously higher price than other similar shops. I don’t have a favourite hardware shop where I shop frequently as I buy from whichever shop is nearest to me at that moment. I needed a couple of hose clamps yesterday and I recall those things are 30 to 50 cents each. This particular shop dare to sell them to me at a dollar and twenty cents. I simply refuse to give them my business eventhough its just a matter of dollars and cents because I find it unacceptable for something I could get at another shop around the corner for half the price.

The hot tub in our house is back in business. Having been left unused for years it has accumulated enough gunk and dirt. The tub surface looks so uninviting it will kill your urge to have a hot tub bath immediately. We hired professional cleaners to do the job of cleaning and fixing the hot tub. The spa filter is replaced and the surface is scrubbed using the right tools and chemicals. They did a splendid job. I’m really looking forward to steal some time away from parenting and enjoy a quite long bubble bath.

I would. Tonight’s bedtime was terrible. Baby Edward refuses to sleep despite being breastfed for over an hour. Clarisse has been very clingy to me for the past few weeks especially during bedtime where not even her dad can tuck her in. Without me, Clarisse simply refuse to sleep. So if baby Edward doesn’t sleep for an hour at a stretch, I will be interrupted while tucking Clarisse into bed.
It’s not that I can’t leave baby Edward with my husband during Clarisse’s bedtime, the problem is he wants to be breastfed instead of bottlefed. It seems like his reluctance towards formula is growing day by day.
I feel bad saying this but I might consider to solely bottle-feed baby Edward. With Clarisse being so difficult to manage at this age, I am struggling to find the time to breastfeed him all the time.

Baby Edward is six and a half weeks old and he is starting to show signs of rejecting formula in the past week or so. He cries a lot more than usual during his bottle-feeding sessions compared to last month. He wouldn’t suckle for more than a minute without fussing. And most of the time, it’s not wind that’s making him so fussy.
These are familiar signs I’m seeing again. Clarisse acted the same way when she refused the bottle at around six weeks.
I read that it is more common for breastfed babies to favor bottle-feeding when they are introduced to formula because it is easier to suckle. But that is not happening to either Clarisse or I’m afraid, Edward too very soon.
I know its much more preferrable to breastfeed our babies, but having bottle-feeding as a supplement and alternative affords me time and convenience to leave Edward to be babysit. I guess if baby Edward reluctance to drink formula grows worst, expressing breast milk by pump is my only option if I have to leave baby Edward at home.

Baby Edward is one-month old today. As I’m writing this, my mom is bathing and getting him ready to go to my in-law’s house to offer prayers to our ancestors. After that, we’ll be going out for lunch at a restaurant. My father-in-law has invited a few of his friends to lunch as well.
I went through Clarisse’s wardrobe this morning trying to find something nice for her to wear. It’s been months since we had her wearing something nice to go out. I realise Clarisse has outgrown most of her nice clothes. The ones that still fit her is fairly tight. I need to go out and shop for some new clothes for Clarisse very soon.
