Pregnancy at 37 weeks
According to my glucose meter readings measured yesterday, I’m doing quite well. I did my best to refrain from sweets, chocolates, ice creams, mooncakes, cakes and it’s paying off. My sugar level is normal. With this glucose meter report card, I went to my OB this morning for my weekly appointment. My OB of couse, says I still need to stay away from sugar laden food until the baby is delivered.
Baby was awake and fairly active during ultrasound scanning this morning. I could see his head moving and turning, pressing against my pelvic. Each time he does that, I feel an uncomfortable sensation around my bladder region. A sensation I’ve been feeling for more than a week now. Now, I know what he’s actually doing to make me feel that way.
His weight is around 6 pounds now. Slightly less than average size according to the scanner’s chart. Clarisse’s weight was an ounce below 6 pounds when she was born. Baby brother may just be a little bit heavier at birth I suppose.
My OB says he’s not yet fully engaged but very close. I asked if I could have an induced labor next week, at 38 weeks gestation just like Clarisse. He suggested why the hurry since according to his scans, the baby is healthy and doing fine. Truth be told, I’m just so tired of being physically exhausted and uncomfortable all the time. And my skin is starting to itch real bad. My stomach has been itching badly for nearly 3 months now and I tell you, with the horrid stretch marks, bruises and scars, my tummy looks like a warzone.
Anyway, my OB will evaluate my situation on a weekly basis from now and decide the best course of action for me.
