We have decided to move out in Oct and rent a house just 5 houses away from my parents’ house. Yes, it is literally a stone’s throw away or barely 30 seconds of walking between both houses.
Ever since Clarisse was born, my parents helped me to take care of her a lot. When situations arise where Clarisse can’t tag along, I leave her at my mom’s place knowing she’s in very safe hands. I can’t put into words how grateful I am she’s willing to sacrifice time and effort to care for my little brat in times of need. And I’m absolutely thrilled and even more grateful she offered to lend a helping hand in the next couple of months.

I used to wonder why my cousin sister wears a pair of big black leather shoes whenever she goes out. She wear it with a pair of jeans usually but the combo doesn’t exactly exude feminity if you ask me. Last week, I asked her why she loves it so much. Apparently its a very comfortable shoe. It’s made by Dansko, a brand famous worldwide for comfortable footwear. She said I should try on a pair to see what the buzz is about. It’s not cheap but her pair of Dansko were bought more than 3 years ago and she’s wearing it daily. This says a lot about durability and quality of Dansko shoes.

It started yesterday. We don’t know if the fever she had on Friday had anything to do with the cold she’s having now. But Clarisse is having a pretty bad cough and runny nose.
This is a terrible time to catch a cold with the country recording a spike in A(H1N1) cases. It really makes you wonder if the next person standing beside or walking past you in public places is carrying the flu bug.

I was offered a free session of facial yesterday by a sales promoter. She asked when was the last time I had a facial session and that made me realise I couldn’t even recall. It had to be more than 3 years ago as I stopped going regularly after Clarisse was conceived. After she was born, I couldn’t even find the time to exercise, nevermind going to facial sessions. Although my face doesn’t experience much breakouts, I do really need to get rid of blackheads. My face is oily by nature, I dread to imagine a cesspool of dirt and oil clogging up those pores. I might just free up a couple of hours for my free session next week.

Clarisse loves to draw. Her cousin’s birthday is next week. So I took our some birthday greeting cards for Clarisse to choose. The chosen card shall be sent to her cousin in Singapore. And before that, I let her whip out her colour pencils and crayons and draw stuff in the card till she’s contented. I would also take her hand, guide her to write a few words. The card will be full of circles and faces as these are Clarisse’s favourite objects to draw.

Clarisse is having a fever now. She woke up fine this morning at 8am but feverish at around 11am. By then I had already prepared her lunch which is rice, chicken and some vegetables. Of course, now that she’s having a fever, she can’t eat rice and had to resort to eating bread. Watching her running and jumping and playing this morning, I wouldn’t have realised she is about to have a fever.
I gave 2.5ml of fever syrup and asked my mom to boil some cooling barley water for Clarisse. But I’m particularly worried about sudden fever. So I would take her to the paed later in the afternoon if her fever persists.
