My appointment with my OB today, for a blood sugar level test at 8AM, means I would have to wake Clarisse up by 7.30am. Drop her at my mom’s place before heading to the hospital for a 3 hour long procedure. My mom agreed to look after Clarisse for the entire morning. Morning is when she is at her busiest so I was really grateful she is willing to help me out.

Clarisse gave me a pleasant surprise to start the day. While I was helping her put on her socks, I said to her ” … we are going to poh poh’s house now “.

” Jacynth che che? “, asked Clarisse.

For a second there, I was stumped why all of a sudden she mentioned her 8-year-old cousin sister who lives in KL and last come back Ipoh a month ago.

Turns out, what Clarisse was probably asking is are we going to grandma’s house to play with Jacynth and Victor, her cousin sister and brother.

You see, my sisters came home and stayed at my mom’s house about a month ago. Every morning, Clarisse and I would wake up as early as possible. Head over to my mom’s house with Clarisse and spend the entire day there. Therefore, waking up early without her usual morning routine and going out must have reminded her about those very mornings when her cousins came to Ipoh. Clarisse had so much fun and laughter with them around.
