Uh oh, papa scold you
It’s been months I’ve refrained from carrying Clarisse. She is getting heavier and my back was feeling the strain. But it has since improved a lot. Nevertheless, its my husband’s task whenever Clarisse needs carrying. I wouldn’t want to risk injuring my spine again.
Last night at around midnight, I was working on my notebook just outside Clarisse’s room. She slept around 9.30pm. She has a blocked nose due to cold for two days so she wasn’t sleeping soundly. As expected, she woke up crying at around 11pm. I went into her room to console her. She wanted to sleep in our bed so I carried her over to our bed without calling for my husband’s help.
Moments later, he came into the room and I told him nevermind, I didn’t want to disturb so I carried her by myself …
Papa: ” Next time let me carry her instead no matter how occupied I am. OK? ”
He left the room. Clarisse who was half awake by then, turned to me and said …
Clarrisse: ” Uh ohhh … papa scold you …”
That gave me quite a laugh. It’s awesome being able to witness how a toddler learn how to read a situation and respond.
