Energy efficient CFL bulbs
4 out of 6 CFL light bulbs in our down lights are burned out but never really took the time to fix them. We have two fluorescent tubes lighting our rooms which is bright enough so we don’t actually need the downlights. I was strolling along the discount lights section at the mall today and there’s this booth demonstrating energy-efficient CFL bulbs compared to normal bulbs. Pretty impressive but the energy-efficient bulbs cost fairly more than normal ones. There’s savings in the electricity bills to be had but that would take a long time. Probably 2 to 3 years of usage granted the bulb does not break down within that time. Even with the discounts given, I passed. The fluorescent tubes in my room give me more light than my six downlights.

Yes CFL’S bulbs no doubt are energy saving but they are very harmful to the eyes as they contain mercury and emit UV rays . I think LED bulbs which are not only energy saving as well as very safe for eyes. I came across this lamp while trawling the net, launched by BPL studylite eco-friendly lamp with LEDS
