When it comes to washing silk garments, hand wash is highly recommended for today’s weaving technology. Warm water is the preferred temperature because it refreshes and rejuvenate silk fabrics. Also when it comes to washing my husband’s silk ties, I avoid using harsh detergents. Especially those that contains chemical bleaches or brighteners. Instead, I use a good shampoo or mild non-alkaline soap. Rinse it with clean water, sometimes mixed with hair conditioner which makes the silk feel extra soft and silky. All in all, it takes no more than a few minutes to get them silk ties washed.
