We’re beginning to see some closure to the dreadful melamine tainted milk scandal. San Lu bosses, middlemen and suppliers were dealt severe penalties. Tian Wenhua, the former general manager and chairwoman of Sanlu Group Co. has been sentenced to death. Zhang Yujun and Geng Jinping, two middlemen who supplied tainted milk to Sanlu Group too were sentenced to death. Despite the harsh penalties, many felt China courts has only punished a select few among the many more involved in melamine tainted milk scandal. And it would take ages for China to regain consumers confidence in food safety.
Of course, when I first heard the news, I checked with Enfagrow to ensure their milk supply are clean. Luckily Enfagrow was fine. But what I didn’t expect was days later, news spread to local biscuit products contain traces of melamine, I was shocked to find Julie crackers on the list of product recall. I bought a few packs of its crackers a few days before reading the news. Clarisse loves them crackers so I was all the more concerned. I called their toll free number and I was advised to return the products to the local supermarket where I bought them. I returned them within the next couple of hours.

Reading about the marketing pitch for one of the most popular dieting pills, Orovo detox, I do agree toxic is one of the contributing factors for weight gain. Toxic build up affects many adults in our society. With our ever increasing stress, unhealthy eating habits, polluted environment, processed food and such, it is hard to escape the clutches of toxic buildup. Which in turn affects many aspects of health. Toxins are culprit that makes it tougher for our organs to perform their crucial functions optimally. And this might slow down metabolism level which leads to increased body fat and low energy levels. It does make me stop and think if our generation of society is exposed to such hazardous amount of toxicity in the air, water and air now. Can you imagine what our children would expect in another two or three decades?

During my breast feeding days to baby Clarisse, I don’t have much knowledge on what type of food that cannot be consumed and would affect the quality of breast milk. For instance, I was told by a TCM that I should avoid fried food because it could diminish the nutritional content of breast milk. If only I should’ve known about it earlier. But then again, I’m a sucker for delicious fried stuff and I wonder if I have the will power to stay completely away from them. Nevertheless, I should have done more reading to gather more knowledge on breast feeding. As a note to self, here are some tips and advices I’ve gathered from various source both online and offline.

I found this beautiful white corset top adorned with pearl-accented Venice trim cascading down the front, hook and eye opening with a slimming lace-up back at the lingerie corsets category at LingerieDiva.com. It is satin in material. Strapless top. I’ve never fancied lingerie corsets much. I know they are sexy and all but they were never really my thing. But I really took a liking when I saw this white strapless satin corset. I have never seen one I like locally in the shops. This is why I love to shop online browsing a virtual catalogue of unlimited merchandise.

My ex-classmate who is now staying in the US vacationed in the Outer banks last month. We keep in contact through MSN and she’d been telling me how wonderful her vacation was. Known for being a major tourist destination, the Outer Banks is a 300 kilometre long stretch of narrow barrier islands just off the coast of North Carolina. It is located on the east coast of US and it is a tourist attraction for vacationers looking to enjoy the temperate coastal climate, the beach and the sea. Accomodation on a budget can easily be found with Outer Banks rentals.

My husband and I were just having at laugh at what Clarisse did during nap time when I was trying to tuck her in.
Ever since her growth spurt the past couple of months, her sized ‘L’ diapers is starting to feel a bit tight around the thigh area. It annoys her sometimes. She would slip her hand under the pants and peel off the sticker holding the diaper together. Her diaper would then drop off inside the pants without me realising it. Until she pees all over her pants of course which by then the annoyance is all mine. I’ve been constantly keeping an eye whenever she decides to undo her diaper. Everytime Clarisse whines about her diaper, I’d help loosen it a little. But more often than not, she wouldn’t be satisfied with it and prefers to have it off. I won’t let her do it of course.
This afternoon, while being tucked into her midday nap, she messes with her diaper. It’s been happening for weeks now, nothing out of the ordinary. I always keep a look out even when I closes my eyes pretending to sleep. Usually Clarisse would bide her time, observe whether I’m keeping my eyes closed and quietly slips her hand under the pants to undo her diaper. I catches her through my barely open eye lids everytime.
Today she tried something slightly more cunning. She pretends to sleep too. After a while, I noticed her hands ever subtly creeping from her tummy down to the top of her shorts and slides under her shorts. All this while keeping her eyes shut. Trying to convince me she’s asleep. I was very amused observing her every move and I tried so hard not to LOL. All I did was grab her hand and push it away from her shorts.
My husband and I had a good laugh talking about it. Cunning little fella isn’t she!

I was browsing the web out of boredom earlier in the night and bumped into ‘talking watches‘. While I’m not exactly into the idea of audible watches, it made me think this would be a nice present for my 3 year old cousin John who’s birthday is in February. I’m sure the kid would find a talking watch amusing. Also I hope it could teach him to tell time. The way I see it, it’s a great educational tool to help kids learn how to tell the time. I’m going to see if I could browse and find kiddie talking watches. I’d love to get one for him.

It’s been nearly a month since I’ve increased my workout intensity by doing more sprints in between my normal jogging routine. My weight has gone very slightly down. Some of you might think this is very discouraging but for me, I’m actually quite pleased coz at the same time I’ve been slowly reducing my consumption of diet pills as well. Dieting, as always, has been my weakest link. So to see that I’m more or less maintaining my current weight instead of it creeping up is very encouraging. I don’t mind not losing weight significantly. I’d be happy and content just to stay at my current weight.

This is how I bathe Clarisse. I prepare two tubs of waters. One with shower foam and another with clean water. After a foamy bath, I’d shower and rub the soap off her. Finally, she’d jump into the clean water tub where she’d spent ten minutes playing her toys and water.
Strangely two nights ago, Clarisse who used to love jumping into the big water tub and waste no time of it, cried when I put her in. I just don’t get it why all of a sudden she didn’t want to go into the water tub and cried incessantly when I tried to persuade her step into the tub. It’s been the same for the past 3 nights. She’d rather squat next to the water tub playing her rubby ducky, toys and scooping and pouring water with the cup instead of jumping in. The water temperature remained normal as far as I checked. Just strange and I really couldn’t figure out why her sudden dislike for the water tub.
I wonder how long this will continue …
