The baby room’s door knob is giving me problems again. The mechanism inside the door knob is sounding louder and more annoying by the day. I won’t mind if it’s any other door around the house but not if it’s the baby room. At times, the knob mechanism lets off a sudden loud “takKkK” sound which may disturb baby Clarisse in her sleep. The door knob was replaced less than a year ago although I admit it was a rather cheap one. So I’m telling my husband to look for industrial knobs grade of strength, sturdiness, built and quality when replacing it this time even if we have to pay triple that of this current lousy knob. I can understand something complicated like a car or PC breaking down. But I can’t stand something as mechanically simple as a common door knob giving me problems in less than a year of use.

I saw this striped polo T-shirt a few months ago and it was selling for more than RM40 at that time. I really like the first time I saw it. I love polo t-shirts myself and I find teeny weeny polo for toddlers to be extremely cute and smart. But at RM40 for a polo t-shirt is too expensive if you ask me. Even I won’t feel like spending more than RM30 for a polo t-shirt.
Last night, while shopping for Chinese New Year clothes for baby Clarisse I was so happy to see it in the 70% discounted items rack. Instead of RM40, I got it just for RM13+. How’s that for a bargain.

Reputation and experience moving companies should be considered when you’re shifting. That doesn’t mean you have to pay through your nose for one as there are many good choices out there so take your time to find one that is economical as well. This advice was given to me by my aunt. She shifted into a new home two years ago and had an unpleasant encounter with a shabby moving company. They broke some of her stuff. They were careless and the job they did left much to be desired. Any good moving companies you wish to share with me?

Everynight before I go to bed, I’d boil my baby Clarisse’s porridge in a slow cooker. Ready for the next morning. I will set the cooker to high for the initial one hour or so then right before I hit the sack, it should be set to ‘low’. I woke up this morning to realise I forgot to dial it to ‘low’. The porridge in the slow cooker was burnt. So I had to throw the whole pot of porridge away. Waste 30 minutes of my morning to prepare and cook it again.
I’m supposed to be at my mom’s place by 11am today. I guess I wouldn’t make it on time. To make matters worst, I ran out of chicken meat to be cooked with baby Clarisse’s porridge so I had to ask my mom to prepare the meat instead. I really hate to bother them on a Sunday morning.
I only have myself to blame for the blunder. I was distracted with searching and registering a domain name over a very slow internet connection last night. It got me so frustrated as I had to repeat the process of registration three times. Baby Clarisse too wasn’t helping as she woke up crying for me while I’m at it. One thing led to another, I dozed off baby Clarisse by my side and forgot about the slow cooker completely. Bummer!

It’s been nearly 3 years since I’ve played tennis in the night. My husband and I, together with a couple of our friends booked a 2-hour session from 7pm – 9pm this evening. Talk about bad luck. Half way into the tennis session, one of the flood lights blacked out. I was truely enjoying this evening’s tennis session when it happened. It was 9.15pm then, we had no choice but to keep playing under insufficient lighting. I was already struggling to adapt to the nightime lighting conditions not having played tennis in the night for 3 years. The faulty flood light made it worst. That’s why I prefer to play tennis during the day.

My husband has a new item on his wish list for Christmas this year. He’s been eyeing an espresso machine for quite some time now but I told him seriously, those things are expensive. What’s wrong with the coffee makers we have at home?! We’ve been going back and forth about it for as long as I can remember. He has always been a sucker for expensive toys for whatever hobby he indulges. Take photography or tennis for instance. He has spent thousands of dollars buying camera and lenses before putting the hobby on hold. And I can’t even remember how many tennis racquets he has switched over the past 10 years before I put a stop to it.

The tug-of-war between using English or Bahasa Malaysia to teach Science and Math worries me. As parents, I am praying and hoping that when my baby Clarisse enters our education system, she’ll enjoy learning Science and Math subjects in English rather than Bahasa Malaysia.
There is no debate for right thinking Malaysians the advantages of learning Science in English over Bahasa Malaysia. We can readily find endless resources of learning materials published in English through the internet. Try that with Bahasa Malaysia. English is the language that unites the world of technology and science. On the other hand, Bahasa Malaysia is a hindrance to the ability of young minds to excel in this field.

The battle with weight gain continues as my scales indicate this morning. Sigh, my weight has barely nudged even after introducing more intensity into my fitness and workout routine. I’ll try to eat less from now on but that would be tough because I’m eating very sensibly these days. If I eat less, I’d be starving and I really hate losing weight like this. I’ll be switching my diet pills to Leptovox next week. According to the reviews, it contains a blend of healthy and natural ingredients. I like the natural stuff so I’m going to try it next.
