What I love and hate about digital cameras
As I sort out the recent batch of my baby Clarisse’s photos for backup, I think about how wonderful it is to have so many shots to remind us of how she looked as she grew from an infant to a 17 month old toddler now. In this age of digital imagery, we snap away with nary a care about cost of film and developing it. That is what I love most about digital cameras. We also get instant gratification being able to view our shots right away eventhough the LCD screen is barely 3 inches wide.
If I were to make a list of improvements to digital camera technology, I would love to have a compact digital camera that gives high quality images at high ISO. 80% of the time, my digital cameras are used indoors under dim lighting conditions.
Also, I wish they are fast. What I mean is when I push the shutter button, it would take the shot instantly. Baby Clarisse never stays still for more than a fraction of a second. It is not easy catching her smile. From the moment I press the shutter release button, she’d be facing elsewhere by the time my digital camera takes the shot. So, shutter delay is something to think about when digital cameras.
