Where have I heard about this diet pill before?

Lipodrene, a diet pill, was being promoted at one of our local pharmacies in town. I knew I heard of it before but I couldn’t recall. As I was driving home, I realised I read the review on Lipodrene online and it sort of got mixed reviews. But compared to other diet pills, Lipodrene doesn’t cost a bomb and according to the review at Consumerpricewatch.net, that’s about the only thing going for it. Your mileage may vary but I guess you get what you pay it.

Baby stroller one of the best gifts

Out of all the baby hampers, clothes, talcum powders, baby creams, toys, books and many more, one of the best gifts we received when baby Clarisse was born was strollers. A month before I was dued to deliver baby Clarisse, my husband and I went about shopping for a baby stroller. We realised a good stroller could cost upwards of about RM400+. We saw one made of exotic ultra light material that cost more than a thousand bucks. It was then when a friend of ours called and asked “has anyone bought you guys a baby stroller yet?”. We said no and he told us their going to get one as a baby present. As it turned out he got us a pretty expensive one from the looks of it. Baby Clarisse is 18 months now, the stroller is one heck of a practical and useful gift we’re still using today.

Second interview tomorrow

The interview last week was a relief. To my pleasant surprise, the interviewer happened to be my college tuition teacher. I used to attend his tuition twice a week when I was doing my Business Management degree. I’ve always been nervous no matter how many times I’ve attended interviews. So when I saw it was him, I was rather relieved as he is a fairly down-to-earth and friendly guy. It’s been many years since I’ve saw him. I didn’t know he lectured in this college let alone becoming principal recently. He remained as friendly and accessible as I’ve known him to be so this was the most comfortable interview I’ve ever been to.

I got a call from college staff this morning informing me the time for the second interview tomorrow. So I’ll be dropping baby Clarisse at my mom’s place tomorrow after lunch at around 2pm. Try to tuck her in for her afternoon nap and go for my interview. Wish me luck.

Trip to Las Vegas in times like these?

Stock markets around the world is diving. However my uncle who has been making a living from the stock market for most of his life doesn’t seem to be bothered by the looming economy collapse. So much so, he and his family are planning to month long trip to las vegas nevada. Perhaps he has been through a few financial and economy turmoil in the past few decades to know what goes down will eventually come up again. Blue chip stocks in good companies where he diversified heavily survived economic downturns in the past. Therein lies the key to long term investing in shares, that is diversify in a portfolio of blue chip shares.

The rich and the rest of us

Close encounters with the rich often makes you wonder how on bloody earth can someone spend that kind of money. I was invited to a house, no … more like a mansion warming party recently by a family member of mine. I’ll leave out the names. It was an opportunity to awe ourselves at how good life can be when a person comes into money. The swimming pool alone is bigger than my driveway plus garden. The daughter’s pair of ballet shoes is well over a thousand bucks. Cars so fancy I had to wipe the drool off my husband’s face. While us common folks play badminton or table tennis, the rich can afford golf or anything that has horses in it. I spot some fine english saddles for equestrian and stacks of golf bags in the garage. That must’ve cost tens of thousands of dollars. I guess common folks who work our butts off for the monthly pay cheques, all we can do is envy and hope. All I wish is I have the means to provide my children with proper health, education and security. It’s all gravy from there.

Going for a job interview later this afternoon

Having let the bank job I interviewed a few months ago slipped away, I’m going for another job interview later this afternoon. It’s for an administration job at a private college. I’ve been applying for jobs within my area for the past few months via JobStreet and more web job hunting services. It isn’t easy to get an interview these days, let alone getting employed. Moreover, I’m looking for jobs with job descriptions that aren’t too stressful or time and energy consuming as I don’t want to spend too much time away from the family and baby Clarisse. I’m not aiming for career building sort of positions either coz if god willing, we wish to have another baby in the near future and I might be forced to resign. I had to resign when I conceived baby Clarisse upon my OB’s advice. Wish me luck.

What I love and hate about digital cameras

As I sort out the recent batch of my baby Clarisse’s photos for backup, I think about how wonderful it is to have so many shots to remind us of how she looked as she grew from an infant to a 17 month old toddler now. In this age of digital imagery, we snap away with nary a care about cost of film and developing it. That is what I love most about digital cameras. We also get instant gratification being able to view our shots right away eventhough the LCD screen is barely 3 inches wide.

Pens and pencils for drawing

Baby Clarisse seems to have found another obsession. This time, its pens or pencils. She has discovered the joys of drawing. I suppose that’s what I should call it eventhough it looks anything but drawings. Whenever she sees something resembling a pen or pencil, she’d lean forward with her finger pointing straight at it. Fusses to get her hands on it. I’d get a paper before giving her the pencil. I make sure she sits down while holding the pencil and I’d definitely won’t let her run around with a pencil in hand. Wonder what’s her next toy-of-the-week would be.

Baby Clarisse had high fever

It happened 2 nights ago. My husband caught the flu bug last weekend and baby Clarisse must’ve got infected by it.

Baby Clarisse’s body felt a bit warm on that very day. It was 3pm late afternoon and we gave her a dose of fever syrup. I tucked her in at around 9pm and decided not to give her another dose of fever syrup eventhough I still can feel a lingering temperature on the moderate side. I preferred to wait until 12am, her midnight diaper changing time, to check if she needs another dose.

As I went into the room again at 10pm and as soon as I touched her forehead and neck, it hit me her fever has risen significantly. The thermometer were off the scale at over 40 celcius.

Feeding puppies

Whenever baby Clarisse steps out of the house, she’s always pointing her finger at my neighbour and fusses to be taken near the fence. I have a cat lover neighbour and dog lover neighbour to my left and right respectively. Baby Clarisse love dogs and the neighbour’s dog gave birth to a few puppies two months ago. Whenever we leave or come home, baby Clarisse would insists to head over the fence just to look at the puppies for 15 minutes before willing to step into the house. Which seems to me more like an hour because our vicinity is a mosquito haven. I had to watch and keep those mozzies at bay. Even the repellents fail to keep them away sometimes. With our neighbour’s permission, we had even bought some dog supplies for baby Clarisse to feed the puppies. She absolutely enjoys feeding the puppies and it never fails to cheer her up. When she grows up, she’s bound to pester me to buy her a pet dog I’m sure.
