Baby Clarisse recognises an unpleasant venue which is her paeditrician’s clinic
Baby Clarisse was scheduled to have her Chicken Pox immunity jab today at 2.30pm. We reach the hospital at 2.20pm. As soon as we got to 1st floor, where the doctor’s clinic is located, baby Clarisse turned away and started to cry. The closer we got to the clinic, the louder she cried. I managed to console her and make her stop crying but as soon as we entered the clinic, she started to cry all over again.
It turned hysterical when the nurse tried to take her weight. She hugged me tightly whenever I tried to put her down on the scale. Loud wailing with every attempt to do so. The nurse and I tried to our best to hold her down but she resisted too strongly it was impossible to keep the weighting scale stable for an accurate reading. So after a couple of minutes, the nurse took my weight while I’m carrying baby Clarisse. Which in turn, is substracted with my own body weight to get a reasonably accurate number.
Baby Clarisse has been brought to the same clinic ever since she was born. The same doctor administered nearly all her required jabs since birth. I guess that’s why she could recognise the place even the surrounding. Definitely not a place she would find pleasant of course, given the jabs and the pain inflicted.
