It’s been a more than year since I gave birth to baby Clarisse. Although my weight has dropped, my tummy on the hand, still looks like I’m four to five months pregnant. Getting rid of tummy fat after childbirth is seriously tough. Every time I open the wardrobe, I’d try not to look at the nice and sexy clothes I used to wear or fit in. Those sexy swimwear or tennis dresses when we used to hit the pool or tennis courts after office hours. I wonder if I should pack and donate all of it as most of these clothings are like new.
My husband and I got carried away when a huge array of baby clothes were on sale at our local Jusco outlet these 2 weeks. I think we might have bought about ten pieces of clothing, mainly t-shirts for baby Clarisse. The ones we bought were very cheap, most of them heavily discounted promotional items. Some discounted by up to 70%.
The shirts I bought retailed at roughly RM40 – RM50 when not discounted. So imagine, ten pieces of clothing barely cost me RM150 during this promotional period. I think it’s a steal.
Campaigning at Permatang Pauh for both political rivals, the evil Barisan Nasional (BN) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has officially ended.
While baby Clarisse was taking an afternoon nap, a long one too at 2 and a half hours, I managed to catch up on quite a lot of news about the mother-of-all-election although my husband and family filled me in on the highlights.
Reading about some of the tricks BN has resort to in this by-election is sickening.
My sister approached me a month ago to seek my views on a franchise opportunity she’s interested in. I took one look at the business plan and realise calling it franchise opportunities is more of a marketing pitch when in actual fact, it’s just a direct selling scheme. I said if she’s really interested, she’d be wise to expect a lot of hard work selling, pitching and marketing the services/products/opportunity. I know it because I’ve been in several franchises myself in the past. However, due to work commitments, I hardly have time for it so after some time, I opted out. Those saying you’d do well just by working at it part time is hardly telling you the truth. It demands your full attention, time and effort to build a successful franchise opportunity.

Baby Clarisse likes doggy so much she dared to walk up close to a dog yesterday. I took baby Clarisse on a stroll around the park and without me noticing her, she walked slowly towards a stray dog. Luckily the dog is just a puppy and not at all fierce. The owner had the puppy on a leash as well.
When I saw her she was within arm’s reach of the puppy. I did not carry her away from the dog but stopped her from walking even closer to the puppy. I did not want to create fear of dogs in her.
My car insurance agent disappoints me time and time again. Last week, my husband had a fender bender incident with a motorcycle hit his car from the back. The biker refused to compensate and wanted to it the hard way, lodging a police in a somewhat threatening way. Fine, my husband called up our car insurance agent and he assured him to go ahead as the accident it’s not his fault. The insurance company will compensate the damage without risking an NCB penalty. Three days later, when we met and pass him the required documents, he let the cat out of the bag saying the biker could file for personal injury compensation from my insurance company and that is where my NCB is going to get hit.
The chances of my father-in-law reading my blog is non-existant so I’m going to rant to my heart’s content.
This morning we went for Dim Sum with my in-laws in an open air restaurant. When I arrive, my father-in-law walked toward us and wanted to amuse baby Clarisse. Seeing him with a ciggarette in hand, I just walked pass him (I know I’m a bit rude but I have no choice) without a care. Its situations like these when I’d rather hurt his feelings than baby Clarisse’s health.

My baby absolutely loved it when I narrate the animation clip to her. Her favourite character is the doggy of course. She has always loved pets. She laughed when Phyto the dog barked ‘Woof! Woof!’.

Having a baby, especially one that is just old enough to eat his or or her own meal, is a walking mess. Baby Clarisse was holding onto a bottle of barley water to drink. I turned my back on her just for 5 seconds and and when I came back she was halfway across the living room. The bottle incidently was left on the sofa, overturned and a good amount of barley water was dripping onto my mother-in-law’s sofa. Luckily she decided to put on a soft layer of faux leather slipcovers that is waterproof and easy to wipe and wash. Very useful indeed for preventing the sofa from an unwashable mess.
