My two and a half hour interview this morning

I went to an interview at EON Bank this morning. It started out with some form filling at 9.30am, half an hour of waiting for the manager and the interview took more than an hour. A lot longer than I had expected despite being the only person to be interviewed this morning. By the time I left for home, it was 15 mins to noon.

Here’s the deal. I am in consideration for the bank’s operations executive position. It will be slightly more authorative than bank officers but the salary hardly justifies the added duties and responsibilities. Furthermore, roughly 20% of my performance will be gauged by monthly sales quota I’ll have to meet. I dislike doing sales the most, but these days, banks require most of their staff to sell banking products. That’s a reality I have to live with. But if I do get this job, and pull it off, it’ll add a good deal of credibility to my resume.

Working in a bank is stressful, esp in the Operations side. I had 8 years of banking experience (in HR). Though the salary is slightly lower than that of other industries, the remuneration package is good. Good luck to you in making a decision.
