I managed to steal some time off from parenting duties this afternoon. My mom took care of my baby Clarisse while I went out for a drink with my girlfriends. It’s good that she won’t mind spending time alone with her grandparents without mommy by her side.

Having a time out from parenting, relax and a good chat with friends is one of the best ways to unwind. Even if it’s just a couple of hours. Talked a lot of stuff today over 2 hours of coffee; baby stuff, parenting, politics and upcoming election and the latest juicy gossips I’ve been missing out lately.

My husband picked me up from the cafe at 3pm, with baby Clarisse and my mom already in the car and we went out to do some shopping. Like any other Fridays. It’s kind of a family routine to shop and dine out on Friday evenings.

Apart from the usual groceries shopping, I have never failed to head over to the baby’s department and browse around for some nice baby clothes, preferrably discounted ones in best buy sections. We found a nice little pink polo t-shirt for baby Clarisse with a 50% discount today. We’ve been looking for some simple collared t-shirt for her as most of the wardrobe consists of round neck t-shirts and dresses.

The evening ended with a nice and simple meal at a Chinese restaurant with my family. I especially enjoyed today’s events as my husband and I have been sick with the flu for the past one week.
