Flu bug is in the house
I’m writing this from my mom’s house where I’ll be staying until my husband and his family recovers from the flu.
My father-in-law caught the flu bug last week and spread it to the entire family. My brother-in-law who flew back to Perth last Sunday took the flu virus back with him as he’s been sick for the past few days. My sister-in-law too were sick as soon as she went back to Kuala Lumpur last Saturday. The list of victims continues - my mother-in-law, me (luckily, very mild runny nose) and Clarisse as well (runny nose which I hope won’t turn into bouts of coughing and fever).
My husband seems to have it worst. He had mild sore throat on Monday which went away the next day. Thinking he was well on his way to recovery, we were surprised he started to have runny nose on Wednesday night. From then on, it will follow it’s usual course of runny nose, slight fever and coughing lasting up to 2 weeks. He’s having a slight fever this morning.
The flu bug has infested the house. I have no choice but to seek respite in my parent’s house. I should’ve left a lot earlier for the sake of Clarisse. My inconsiderate father-in-law doesn’t seem to care about keeping a good distance away from baby Clarisse despite our advice. It’s very frustrating for me indeed and he get easily offended when being told not to go near baby Clarisse.
