Help your baby learn how to sit up on her own - Day 3

A few days of practise and guess what! My baby Clarisse is able to sit all by herself without any support for 1 whole minute!

Last night, after I came back from my mother’s house, I gave my baby Clarisse a quick bath and put her in the crib. I placed her in a sitting position, my hands beside her ready to catch her fall. To my surprise, she sat wobbly on her own, balancing herself for about one minute. My husband and I were delighted and amused to see her progress. We could see she’s struggling to balance herself, ultimately loosing and falling sideways. But it was a huge improvement compared to before we started to spend more time helping her practise sitting on her own.

And she seems to really enjoy herself in a sitting position. She sat by herself in her crib this morning while I go about my chores in the room. She just sat there and happily played with her toys. She did not make a noise for more than half an hour. Except the few times when she gets off-balanced and topple over.

I’m pretty happy and satisfied with her progress in sitting practise. I guess all she needs to do is to practise maintaining her balance to sit independently. I won’t be forcing her to sit more than she wants but right now, it seems like she couldn’t get enough of it.

I have a baby boy that just turned 6months on June 07. I was kind of worried because I didn’t know if he was on the right track or not. He just learned how to hold his bottle last month but he will get lazy and want me to hold it. He knows how to hold his head up pushing up with his arms and turns his head side to side.He reach for everything and plays with his toys very well.He know how to roll front to back when he basically feels like it.LOL My little one even knows how to say “dada”.I almost forgot, even when he sits in his swing he pulls up on the side rails to sit up but he just wont sit up without falling to the side or to his back.Should he be sitting up at this age?If you have any advise please let me know!!!
