From the moment I conceived I have had scalp problems, With my first child it was a ''normal'' pregnancy. It started as a small quarter size spot on my head and I thought I just wasn't washing all the conditioner out my hair well then it spread over my whole scalp over the last 3 months. Very painful, itchy, hard flaky patches on my scalp. I have tried olive oil, selsum blue(which only made me want to throw up from the smell), baby oil, head and shoulders and different shampoos and nothing helps. Its to the point I use to have long curly hair and now I have a tinker bell hair cut but I seem to be losing a lot of hair...was told by my father to see a skin doctor so lets see if he can help.

Remember, dandruff is a fungus... Often wrongfully accused of being the culprit of flakes.. What is most likely occurring Is dry scalp caused by hormone overload in our follicles. Hormones go toxic in the follicle and can cause build up which keeps our natural oils from reaching our scalp to moisturize it, thus the flakiness. Best cure for scalp and best for hair is nioxin cleanser and scalp therapy. It is a shampoo and conditioner formulated ( and created by a woman;) ) for thinning hair but it treats follicle build up, as that is one of the causes of hair loss as well! There are 8 systems In nioxin so when you go to the salon to buy it, consult the stylist as to which system best suits your needs! I'm a hairstylist and 8 months pregnant... Nioxin # 3 has saved my sanity!

I'm only 3 months pregnant and for the last month have noticed that my head has been terribly itchy and full of dandruff! The funny part is that i have never had dandruff even when my hair was really dirty! I think that because of our pregnancy and the fact that our hair is growing at such a rapid rate, it may be the reason we all suddenly have this annoying dandruff!

Hi Gracie,

There are 2 types of Franch oil. One with green cap which is locally distributed and the other one is with red cap which is only for sale in India. I found that the one from India to be more effective than the one locally distributed. I used to buy in dozens from one of the indian store in a market here as there are prone to be out of stock. Furthermore the price is cheaper than the one locally distributed. By the way, where are u from?
